Frontier Forensics Midwest, LLC
Frontier Forensics Midwest is a privately owned autopsy facility that opened in August 2008 as the First Call Morgue. The morgue is designed with multiple autopsy stations allowing four autopsies to be performed simultaneously. The facility features a surgical grade air handling system in the autopsy suite for the comfort and safety of staff and guests. An in-house digital x-ray unit in the autopsy suite allows for convenient capturing and viewing of postmortem x-rays. Copies of x-rays can be immediately provided to law enforcement agencies in a digital format. A walk-in cooler with a capacity of approximately 25 bodies and a walk-in freezer provide ample space for proper storing of bodies.
An electronic database and record keeping system ensure efficient information entry, recall and backup. The facility provides a place for discreet and weather shielded intake and release of bodies. The morgue is equipped with communication radios and antennas allowing for contact and coordination with local and national agencies in the case of an emergency or natural disaster. An emergency generator is available for any unexpected loss of power to ensure integrity of records and uninterrupted operation of the morgue. Additional space has been added to accommodate offices for staff, meetings, depositions, case review and training for law enforcement.
Frontier Forensics Midwest is located at 40 S. 18th Street, Kansas City, KS 66102. The facility is approximately one-mile north of I-70 on 18th Street.
